30/11/23 21:10pm 1701378628 Due to x's (formerly twitter)'s ongoing assault on sex-workers, we are disappointed to announce that @LadsList has been permanently suspended from their platform. Since we were founded back in 2015 we have been present on Twitter/x and a year later we launched the "Tweet Online Availability" feature to the site, that is also a victim of this purge. We have previously appealed a suspension - and it was overturned by Twitter, but since the takeover by Elon Musk it seems to have chance tact, and the recent launch of paid-verification in the form of "Twitter" blue didn't do anything to remedy to issue. So we've said goodbye to them! Musk & Twitter are no friends of sex-workers. This doesn't affect your ability to set availability on LadsList itself we should add. Index on Censorship: Twitter ‘Blue’: Sex workers, censorship and the fight for online visibility A recent report by MarketPlace found that 97% of sex-workers relied on Twitter to promote themselves online. So they are eliminating a large section of users who they have a monopoly over with justification or medication, this can only back-fire in the long-run for x. In the meantime, Lads List is committed to keeping an eye on alternative social media networks of interest to work with to increase the visibility of sex-workers in this uncertain electronic age. One new entrant to the social network world that holds a lot of promise is BlueSky. Although it's too early to see if they too will go the way of Twitter. So far they seem to have their safeguards for hosting NSFW adult content and users pretty-much figured out. We're looking at linking our availability feature to BlueSky's API in the near future if it's compatible, in the same way we did with Twitter. So watch this space! BlueSky is in beta version at the moment soon you need an Invite Code to join. If you're already there, you can find and follow us: @ladslist.bsky.social Edited by BoydBoss on 30/11/23 21:13pm
